One Canada Square Foyer
Cesar Pelli's 50-storey tower at One Canada Square was completed in 1991 — at the time, the tallest building in the UK. Canary Wharf Group commissioned Basha-Franklin to design rugs for the ground floor.
Strong existing finishes like green marble, bottle-green furniture and stainless-steel panelling would require a design that complemented and set them off while feeling fresh and contemporary.
We produced multiple samples exploring the impact of pattern, colour and scale, and tested materials appropriate for high-traffic areas. Our final selection reflects CWG's classic aesthetic in two tones. The Tencel-wool combination brings a sheen to the pattern.
